Stories & Faces of People Waiting
Lizette's Story:
Hoping for a Second Chance at Life

Lizette Rosen-Myers was born with polycystic kidney disease (PKD), a hereditary condition that has progressed to kidney failure. She is currently on dialysis and waiting for a kidney transplant.
Living with kidney failure has changed many parts of Lizette’s everyday life. Dialysis dictates much of her schedule, while the uncertainty of waiting makes it difficult to plan for the future and enjoy the freedom she once had.
Her 90-year-old mother lives in Georgia and is receiving hospice care with the support of professional caregivers. Lizette remains connected with her mother while navigating her own health challenges from Florida.
Lizette isn’t looking for someone to simply make her life easier. She is looking for the chance to live it again. A living kidney donor could give Lizette more energy, more freedom, and the opportunity to travel, make plans, and experience life beyond dialysis.

Lizette isn’t looking for someone to simply make her life easier. She is looking for the chance to live it again.
A living kidney donor could give Lizette more energy, more freedom, and the opportunity to travel, make plans, and experience life beyond dialysis. She hopes for more time to be there for her son and to continue being part of the moments that matter as he builds his own future. For Lizette, a transplant would mean the chance to look beyond dialysis and toward a life with more possibilities.
Behind every face is a life, a family, and a future worth fighting for.
